While Keywords can be added in any of the Logging Apps at any time (including during logging), it is generally easier to add Keywords through the Web App. In the Web App you have a full size keyboard available, and can upload a list of Keywords as batch in a text file.
Keywords are assigned to an Event. They can be assigned to more than one Event at a time. When assigned to an Event, the Keyword appears in the Logging Interface in the Logging Apps. You can change the assignment in the Web App at any time.
Keywords can be deleted and no longer available to be assigned to an Event. Previously logged Keywords will not be deleted (unless the Event is deleted).
Add, Edit, Delete and Upload Keywords
Keywords for Location, People, Activity and Other (Content) Keywords are added through the Web App. Keywords can be added one by one, or uploaded in a batch.
Add, Edit, or Delete Keywords for Locations, People, Activities and Other Keywords
You can add, edit or delete keywords by tapping the relevant New or List links: New - to add a new keyword List - to edit or delete a keyword
If you edit a keyword that's already been used for logging it will update all these logged keywords in all your events.
If you delete a keyword that's already been used for logging, the keyword will remain in all logged Events, but be unavailable for future logging.
Once you've added or edited a keyword, tap the Back to Logger link to return to the logging interface.
The new keywords are automatically added to the currently selected Event.
There are no restrictions on keywords. And you don't have to use all the keyword columns. Keywords can be in any language or script supported by macOS.
Keyword sort in alphabetical order in each column.
Upload a List of Keywords
You can upload a text file of keywords (comma, tab or new line separated) to add a batch of keywords to your event. Keywords are uploaded to one category at a time.
Make sure that the file is simply text, with no formatting.
To import an uploaded text file of keywords:
Click on List for the keyword column you wish to import keywords to.
Click "Choose File" to browse for the file you wish to import
Click "Import" to import the text file of keywords to that keyword group.
Once you've added keywords, tap the Back to Logger link to return to the logging interface.
The new keywords are automatically added to the currently selected Event.
Note: Keywords already associated with your Account will not be imported again, even if they are currently not associated with any Event. If the message that reports how many Keywords have been imported is less than you expect, it is probably because they are already in Lumberjack System under your membership, but not associated with Event.
Reviewing Logged Keyword Ranges and Notes
The Web App can be used to review the Keyword Ranges that have been logged to an Event and uploaded. You an also review any notes associated with the Keyword Ranges.
Important: The Web App shows the uploaded logs. In order to accurately review all logs, be sure that any Keywording done in the iOS Logger has been uploaded after logging. The iOS Logger will show a red Upload Button if there are logs on the device that have not been uploaded.
In the iOS Logger you can review logs on the device by swiping down with two fingers. Logs that have not been uploaded will be displayed, and Note can be added or edited. See Live Logging Help.
Review After Logging in the Web App
In the top right of the Web App you will find a link to View Metadata Logs.
Tap this link to list out all the logged metadata for this Event, whether on that day or earlier.
Note: This is a read-only list - logs cannot be modified here.
The Metadata Logs will show all Keyword Ranges logged whether they were uploaded from the iOS logger, entered in noteLogger or backLogger. All logs for the Event are aggregated in this view. If there are otes associated with a Keyword, they can be viewed here.
At the top is a Total Duration logged for each keyword, and below that is the listing of each logged Keyword Range.
If there are notes associated with the Keyword Ranges, they will be displayed after the Keyword's details.
Review After Logging in iOS Logger
In the iOS Logger, you can add a note to a Keyword by finishing the Keyword Range with a long press. Press and hold for one second to end the Keyword Range and you will be given the option to add a Note to the Range just logged.
To add or edit a note to a Keyword Range already logged:
Swipe down using two fingers (two finger swipe) on the column you want to review.
Click Add to add a note to a logged Keyword Range that has no note, or
Click Edit to edit a note on a Logged Keyword Range that has a note.
Return to the main logging screen by swiping down with two fingers.
Review Notes After Logging in noteLogger
The noteLogger desktop app shows only Keywords with Notes, so it is a good place to review Notes.
